Heroes Picks Up For Months Later!

Posted by smanofsteel76 on September 25, 2007

Heroes Season 2 began last night and it starts four months after the last finale. It was very good. Some of my favorite highlights of the premiere were Hiro meeting his hero, Dr. Suresh getting recruited by the company and conspiring with Noah Bennett to take them down, and the discovery of Peter Petrelli. I am thirsty for more and can’t wait for next week!

The Brave One Is A Killer Movie!

Posted by smanofsteel76 on September 23, 2007

I just got back from viewing The Brave One with Jodie Foster and it was very good flick.  The movie kept me wondering what Jodie was going to do next as she walked the streets killing people that messed with her.  There were some slow moments but overall the movie was filled with suspenseful drama that kept me wanting to see what happened next.  I highly recommend this movie and right now there aren’t many movies that have come out this month that look good.  The Brave One is in my opinion the movie of the month to  make sure you catch before it leaves theaters.

Survivor: China Begins, Chicken Gets Voted Off!

Posted by smanofsteel76 on September 22, 2007

Survivor: China started on Thursday.  The group of survivors were separated into tribes.  There was an immunity challenge where Fei Long won.  Zhan Hu went to tribal council.  All the normal Survivor stuff happened.  Chicken was the first castaway voted off.  With a name like Chicken, I am glad he’s gone!  Anyway, what happened to Exile Island and the hidden immunity idol?  Is it gone for this season?  Anyway, I look forward to next week!

Kids Rule In Kid Nation!

Posted by smanofsteel76 on September 20, 2007

I just got done watching the premiere of Kid Nation and I liked it. 40 kids have been given an opportunity to make a ghost town into a kid run town. When the show began, they were let off in the desert, given little instructions and sent to Bonanza City. Four kids were pre-chosen to be leaders. Some of the kids got homesick right off the bat but other kids really stepped up to try and help out in the town. The next day they split up into four groups, all with a different color. Then there was a Survivor-like challenge to determine which kids were given which jobs. The red team won the upper class category, the blue came in second and got the merchant category, the yellow came in third and got the cook category, and finally the green got to be the cleaning crew. Since the challenge ended within an hour they all won a special prize. Seven more outhouses or a TV. They chose the outhouses since before there was only one for all of them. Finally, the show ended with the town hall meeting and Sophia was chosen to receive the gold star, which was worth 20, 000 dollars, for helping out as much as she did. Then they were all given a choice whether they wanted to go home or stay and Jimmy chose to go home. Overall, I thought this was a very entertaining show and I can’t wait to see what happens next week on Kid Nation!

Rockin’ With REO Speedwagon And The Loop On The Chicago River!

Posted by smanofsteel76 on September 12, 2007

REO Speedwagon played a mini show on the Chicago river aboard a speed boat this morning. I was at the Merchandise Mart along with many fans and Johnny B. from the Loop. I took many pictures from the Loop bleachers with my camera phone and I will be posting them to my Buzznet page, http://smanofsteel76.buzznet.com/, so check them out. This was definitely a “one of a kind” experience. REO rocked and Johnny B. got the crowd excited. I had fun and getting up this morning at 4:30 was worth it. As far as I could tell the people on the streets around there were having fun too. the sound was a little shaky at first and when they did get it on, I would have preferred it to be louder. Even still, it was fun to see a rock band on the river. Some hits REO played were, Roll With The Changes, Time For Me To Fly, Gloria, and more. Rock on Chicago!

Netscape.com Is Changing Back To A Portal, Digg Becomes My Social News Outlet And Provider!

Posted by smanofsteel76 on September 9, 2007

I have decided that, because Netscape.com is reverting back to what it once was, I am going to start using Digg.  Netscape claims it is just moving the social news site but the reason I am going to Digg is because I have a feeling the next step after moving the site will most likely be a complete shutdown of it altogether.  Netscape is what started me on social news even though Digg invented it and Netscape was just a clone.  I will miss Netscape, but I look forward to seeing what Digg has to offer.  I have found a wonderful Firefox extension that allows me to submit stories just as easily as I have been with the Netscape bookmarklet.  The extension is called “Digg This!”.  I have also noticed that Digg has pretty much the same features.  The only thing I will miss is the way Netscape categorized the news.  Digg is a little different and will take some getting used to.  If anyone reading this is considering the switch to Digg, rest assured that Digg is very comparable to Netscape.  Keep on Digging!

Pownce Added Some Features Today!

Posted by smanofsteel76 on September 3, 2007

I noticed that Pownce added some features today.  My favorite new feature is the ability to add links to all my other profiles on other various networks, including MySpace, Stumbleupon, Last.fm, Twitter, and more.  I still however don’t think it beats Twitter yet.  So I will keep my microblogging on Twitter for now.  Pownce seems to be coming along nicely but it still needs some applications and extensions to make it easier to access and RSS.  Hopefully those are coming next!
